Documentation

This tool was experienced while working on my project about violent extremism. I didn't know anything about the topic.

I ended up:

- watching real-life moms whose sons and daughters traveled to Syria for participating in the war

- An ancient soldier that used to fight as a radical religious act and re-converted to an inspirational speaker

- approaching an extremely religious person for an interview

- Reading governmental reports and articles on how to spot violent extremism

- Reading academic thesis about the process of extremist groups hiring process

- Reading books on how to convert someone to being polarized

Best practices

When using this tool, make sure to satisfy the checkboxes below. You can find more details about each box in the bottom.

Make a plan

There is so much you can do, that it gets easy to fall into a rabbit hole! Make a plan in which you specify how you would use your time wisely and get the best out of it.

Take breaks

It can get overwhelming to immerse yourself into a new dimension that is not familiar to you. Take some time to breathe, re-energize and reflect about your findings.

Dare to step in

Don't be afraid to go out of your comfort zone! Sometimes you have to investigate further than what you expected to. It's okay! Be sure to stay safe and respect people's boundaries.
